Providing Public utility services.

Our goal is to formally ensure the maintenance and repair of locations within the municipal council jurisdiction that are unnamed, not privately owned, and not designated as private property. This includes providing essential public utility services required by the community and ensuring that all physical constructions within the council’s boundaries comply with regulations and guidelines issued by the Urban Development Authority, the Buildings Research Organization, and other relevant state institutions.

We impose a property tax calculated as a percentage of the annual assessed value of each property within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council. This taxation is aimed at facilitating effective planning and provision of healthcare and welfare services.

Waste, defined as any material discarded as unimportant in daily life, has become a significant challenge both in Sri Lanka and globally. Our objective is to transform Kegalle into a beautiful and sustainable city through the systematic and strategic management of waste.

Recognizing the rarity of books containing valuable knowledge and the importance of accessible information, our mission is to enhance reading and language skills among children and adults. We aim to provide access to diverse informational and literary resources, allowing individuals to explore their interests and enjoy enriching content from the comfort of their homes.

Examination of patients and provision of free treatment.

Provision of free Ayurvedic treatment through conducting mobile clinics within the council area.

Providing free Ayurvedic services.

The Kegalle Municipal Council Free Ayurvedic Dispensary provides free Ayurvedic treatment to the people of the area. More than 500 patients visit this Ayurvedic dispensary every month for treatment. Our aim is to provide the necessary medical facilities to maintain a healthy life, both physically and mentally.

 

Maintaining Crematoriums and Cemeteries

As a local government institution that provides services for the convenience, well-being and well-being of the people from birth to death, when a person living in the area dies, some people expect to cremate a body as a custom, while others expect to bury a body traditionally. Our aim is to provide land for the burial of such bodies and to provide the necessary facilities for cremation.

 

The 04 cemeteries owned by the council are maintained and maintained properly and crematorium facilities are also provided.

Providing community hall facilities.

Our aim is to develop the physical infrastructure of the urban community as well as human resources by providing community hall facilities free of charge for the public to carry out public and collective activities such as organizing programs, holding programs, holding meetings, and holding societies.

14 community halls owned by the council are handed over to trustees and are maintained and maintained in a proper manner.

Pre-Schools Services

In addition to the knowledge a child acquires from his parents and the surrounding environment at home, our aim is to meet all the basic educational needs including external education or basic education, comparative education.

Children who have completed 04 years of age within the city limits are admitted. In addition, children who are close to the limits are admitted to a limited extent. Qualified pre-school teachers run 04 pre-schools in 04 community halls owned by the council.

Provision of sports facilities.

There is a famous saying that “Sports is a religion to be believed in, not a medal to be worn”. Sports is a beautiful experience that is a mixture of victory, defeat, happiness and tears. For this, the Kegalle Municipal Council, as a local government institution, maintains a sports complex equipped with all the facilities. Our aim is to provide the necessary facilities to create a successful person who is patient, dedicated, determined, self-confident and courageous.
