Right to Information Act Section of Kegalle Municiple Council

The Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016 is an Act that is implemented to provide access to information to the public. This Act was passed by Parliament on 24th June 2016. This Act came into effect from 03 February 2017 for Ministries and State Authorities.

Through the Right to Information Act, you have the ability to obtain the information you need as per the provisions of the Act and submit appeals about it, and for that you can get the support of the following officers and the Information Commission.

What to do to get information:

(RTI 01) You can submit the Information Officer through a letter or email message clearly stating the information you want in the Information Retrieval Application Form.

Appeal to Designated officer

If you are not satisfied with the information received as per RTI application (RTI 10) you can appeal to the designated officer through appeal application.

Appeal to Information Commission.

If you are not satisfied with the decision of the designated officer, you can appeal to the Freedom of Information Commission.
